Commonly used hull structural steel plates are general strength steel (A, B, D, E grade) steel plates, high strength steel (AH32, DH32, EH32, AH36, DH36, EH36 grade) steel plates as stipulated in GB712; high quality carbon steel (CIO, C20) steel plates for ships as stipulated in GB5312; A, B grade steel ball flat steel for shipbuilding as stipulated in GB9945, etc.
Structural steel plates for ship hulls are divided into strengths according to their minimum yield points.
The general strength structural steel of China Classification Society Code standard is divided into four quality grades: A, B, D and E. The high strength structural steel of China Classification Society Code standard has three strength levels and four quality grades:
