What is a composite steel?

Construction workers commonly define composite steel as a ferrous alloy profile that works in conjunction with concrete. The excellent tensile strength of the steel profile combines with the compressive strength of the concrete, vastly improving the load-bearing properties of the overarching structure.

Types of composite steel plates

There are many types of clad steel plates, which can be divided into two categories according to their combination types, namely metal clad steel plates and non-metallic clad steel plates. The metal clad steel plate is compounded with other metal coatings on the surface of the steel plate, such as stainless steel clad steel plate, titanium clad steel plate, copper clad steel plate and aluminum clad steel plate, etc. Non-metal clad steel plate is made of base steel plate and viscoelastic resin with excellent vibration damping performance, such as lightweight clad steel plate and vibration damping clad steel plate. Stainless steel clad steel plates and titanium clad steel plates are used to make various storage tanks, pressure vessels, seawater desalination equipment, etc. As substitutes for rare and precious metal titanium and stainless steel, they have been widely used in chemical industry, atomic energy, marine development and other fields that require corrosion resistance.
